Talk O' Texas Okra Pickles

I tried them for the first time today and they were pretty good but I can't help but wonder what's the big deal here. The first time I tried brisket...WOW! These things? Ummm, pretty good but not GREAT. OK, maybe it's not fair to compare beef to vegetables but I still don't see what the big deal is here. Are these things anything more than slightly-better-than-average pickles? Should I be including them as an ingredient in some dish I've missed? I'm still saying they taste better than your average dill spears and I will buy another jar.......but really now.......what's the big deal here? I just don't get it. Why do people rave themselves to death over these things?

They're a damned tasty snack.

That's really about it, as far as the basis for the raves. The same reason that I rave about chili and cheese fritos -- a handful of both make me happy from time to time.

Talk O' Texas okra is about the best pickled okra you can find aside from homemade. I've been eating them since I was a kid and will eat okra about anyway I can -- pickled, fried, grilled, sauted.
