Yeah, your weighting is so arbritrary it doesn't equal 100%. And who would have guessed USC #1?

What's the point of weighting? Many a true freshman comes in and lights it up the first year. Some go on and have even better years, some go downhill from there, and some jump to the NFL as soon as legally allowed. Conversely some high rated recruits are only on campus as juniors or seniors due to injuries or failure. So I am not sure it warrants any weighting.

Still, an interesting system of ranking via the star system.
Any chance it could also be done without ranking the classes? That would also be revealing, and we could compare the two rankings.

Sorry about the idiotic 95%. Really makes no difference though -- because it is the relative weighting between the years that matters. I come up with a weighted average and then rank the teams. I will post the numbers shortly.

You have to weight them. Any team that has a ton of freshman playing is a team that is in trouble. Would be helpful to look at the top teams starting lineups and come up with a weighting from that.

The headings are done by RANK, Average Star, and an average of the two.

Yes if a team is starting a large number of freshman that could prove troublesome. But having a lot of highly rated freshman on campus, suiting up and getting some spot duty is highly advantageous.
