Tailgating question

In the Longhorn Foundation lots, how does it work with a bbq pit on a trailer. Will they allow you to bring a vehicle and trailer with just one parking pass? Since everyone is supposed to be guaranteed a spot in their designated lot, I assume you can't leave the pit in another parking space. Can you find an out of the way place that doesn't take up a parking spot or block others? Or is it generally best just to not mess with that large of a pit?

It seems to matter where your permit is. The San Jacinto (light blue) guards won't allow you to take up an extra space with a trailer and will not allow you to park in on UT grass. In our Lot 80 days (pink) I think I saw at least 1 pit trailer pulled up on the grass...but not taking up another parking space. I can't speak for the other lots or their guards likes and dislikes. However it seems they seem to generally dislike the trailer ideal. When we did pull a trailer to carry extra gear we had to find a pay lot to store it in until after the game was over. Hope this helps.

Before it became a LF lot, successfully parked my 14 ft. pit trailer for years in SE corner of blue lot 40 where dead space existed marked by diagonal stripes. Showed up at 7 AM sharp to claim the space and simply paid for two parking spaces (tow vehicle & trailer). Also, made sure gate attendants got a peace offering of BBQ, fajitas, brats, etc.

May want to see if that space is still there and if it's getting used on game days. If not, see if LF can reasonably accommodate. Worth a shot.

Trailers in the grass is not a problem at the Disch lots. Wasn't a problem either back when we were in what's now the pink lot.

Thanks for the responses. Pogo, where in Disch do y'all tailgate and what entrance do you use? That is the lot we are in and usually do a lazy tailgate (i.e. bring in already prepared food and just hang out for a couple hours), but are thinking about doing it bigger for a couple of games. I don't think where we are at now will work well, but so we'll probably have to find a new area.

On the outer perimeter of the lot. They might be pulling the trailer into the grass right off the street, unhitching, then entering the lot.
