Tail gating -for the clueless

avoiding work

So, I have gone to many games over the years (decades), but have never joined in on a tail gate. Can someone tell me the general etiquette? Are there public tail gates where you can join in, perhaps buy a beer? Are most tail gates private, where anything more than a passing hook 'em or hello is not wanted?

I don't know if you know about Bevo Blvd. or not but it's put on by a local radio station, The Zone. It's at 18th and San Jacinto. I have never been so I don't know how fun it is or isn't but it is always an option until you find a better one. There will be food and beer there as far as I know. Maybe even tv's with other games. It's free, I think.

After you visit Bevo Blvd and maybe Sholtz then walk through any parking lot with the tail gating sites.
You will be able to pick out the ones who charge and they make it pretty obvious.

I 'd walk around and decide on which menu and which venue looks best to you and then pay and join.
nearly all the paid sites also have flat screens showing at least 2 games

In my area there are private and paid 'gates
not hard to see which is which
BUT I don't think anyone would turn you away for a beer
so come on down!

Take a look atThe Link online and see if that is of interest to you. Across from Bullock Museum.

Have not been to it but it may be what you are looking for.
They have a discounted VIP pass on Living Social today for $60 and there is a 20% off coupon above the offer.

If you are around Disch-Falk and looking for a tailgate send me a PM. You are welcome to come by and have a beer or 6 and throw some washers. We welcome all Longhorn fans and even a few of the others if they are hot enough
