Swaim

Did he even play? I thought injuries took his chance away of playing.

That's a bit odd. He did spend a couple of years there before transfering here, but I wasn't aware if he had any beef with UT.

I saw that too and had to look it up. Yes, he spent two years at Butte College before transferring into Texas. His intro last week on the radio was also Butte (he calls it Butte Community College). Don't know why he does this?

He is the starting tight end for the cowboys and made a couple of key plays during the game.

I honestly don't remember him ever doing something at Texas? Did he even play? I generally pride myself about knowing obscure guys on this team that go on to bigger things. I have no idea who he is or when he played.

I think you may be right. I seem to remember him being injured mostly while here. However, that memory may be simply be because that is normal for tight ends at UT. Maybe if didn't see significant playing time here, he doesn't claim UT as his alma mater.

He played, and blocked really well. He was never consider a pass-catching TE, and he was brought in specifically for his blocking. I heard plenty of people that season saying that he would be making money in the NFL based on his play. But he probably only caught a handful of passes.

He played, caught a few passes, nothing to remember. Guy doesn't want to admit playing here, who cares. It's his life if he wants to burn those bridges. Think he was a Mack recruit that ended up playing for Charlie. Maybe there is something there. But it's his back story so I don't see it's that big a deal. If he would have been a star, maybe I'd think differently. But no one even remembers him here.

He had a pretty ugly drop early in the Oregon game that helped set the inept tone our offense would have for the rest of that day. Not that he's to blame for our 56 yards passing or whatever. That was more on Case and the OL.

I think some promises were probably made by Mack's staff that weren't kept by Strong's. Like he would be the primary TE, but instead we kind of abandoned the TE-as-a-catcher position when Ash went down. MJ McFarland (if you can believe it) got more of the meaningful reps as a receiver while Swaim was the blocking specialist for Swoopes' runs.

I don't see him saying his CC as a huge mark of disrespect against us. He could just be throwing some props their way.

Yep. We were down 13-7 early in the 2nd and had a 3rd and 4 in Oregon territory. Swaim dropped a well-thrown ball that would have given us a first down somewhere around their 35.

Our next possession started at our own 8, but Malcolm Brown rushed out to midfield, and we went to Swaim again and he dropped it again.

And then the first time we put Swoopes in for McCoy, Tyrone threw a 50 yard bomb that hit Mike Davis perfectly ... for another unforced drop.
