Surround speakers

So I had my home builder prewire my living room for surround sound and now that its time to hook everything up I realize that they put a box in the ceiling (same as if it was a cable jack), probably because of some code issue. My problem is that when I remove the cover, I have a big hole in my ceiling where the wires come out and the speaker mounts aren't large enough to cover it.

The options I've come up with are as follows. Poke the wire through a tiny hole in the ceiling and then patch the hole, texture and paint the spot. This is the most work and might not even blend well with the rest of the ceiling. Another idea is to mount the speakers next to the cover but my walls are khaki, faceplate is white and speakers are black - just holding all of it together up there looks weird. My last thought was to paint the face plate the color of the walls, then mount the speaker mount to the face plate and cover the hole back up that way. I've looked for larger speaker mounts (the size of the face plate) but can't find any.

What am I not thinking of?

Thanks

You need to buy:

Then connect and mount the speaker next to the outlet.

I basically have that, but it doesn't look good to have the walls khaki, that faceplate white and the speaker and speaker mounts black. That's my dilemma.

Lowes has switches and outlets in several colors-you may be able to use one of those, and they can be primed and painted, as already stated. If the plate won't cover the hole, you will have to patch the opening with sheetrock mud and paint it to match, though.
Lowes sells small job repair kits for sheetrock walls-might check this out.
