Surround Speakers Syatem?

Anyone have a recommendation on a good 5.1 Surround System that is not over priced? I've been looking at the Polk Audio RM 6750 system, which I can get for around $250. My only problem is the receiver I am probably going to get puts out 110 watts per channel and the Polk speakers only handle 50 watts continously. Honestly, I have no idea what that means. And really, I only need 2 satelite speakers, one center channel speaker, and a subwoofer. I have a couple of speakers in the ceiling which I am going to use for the back surround, which is why I don't need all 5 speakers. But if getting the set is cheaper than buying the speakers individually, like the Polk, then I will get the set. Any ideas?

You could probably get a good deal at Circuit City right now since they're liquidating and closing many stores. J&R always has some good deals. I saw a really nice Pioneer 7.1 HD Receiver on sale the other day on their website.

IMHO, there's no such thing as a good Home Theater in a Box (HTB) surround system for $250, unless you find a good close-out or refurb model. I would check Harman Kardon, Pioneer or Onkyo's website or e-bay site. With everything moving toward HD audio and video, I think its wise to move in that direction but it depends on what type of audio experience you want. Do you want something that just makes a little noise or do you want something that will hit you in the chest? If you want some good inexpensive speakers for your front (L-C-R), check Athena Audio on Audio Advisors website.

Check online pricing for comparison if you find something you like at CC or BestBuy. I found a set of in-wall Boston Acoustic speakers for a bit under $250 at Circuit City. On Amazon, they were $107 shipped.
