I mean, what other reason could there be for the constant wave of attacks (from both sides, btw) against him?

Holde's remarks remind me of many of the lefties on here who don't want to admit BO's policies and decisions ( and now Holder's as well) are the reason and only reason conservatives want to see BO defeated.
By crying race they think they can diminish someone and blot out the real reasons.
 
Holder is a disgrace to not just African Americans, but all Americans. And liars. And crooks. The fact that he pulls the race card simply smacks of his need to conceal his guilt and participation in the gun running gone amock that he so vehemently denies having any part in.

When he hollers racism it's to deflect just how bad he suck at his job. Never mind he's been proven to have known about given over 2,000 guns to the mexican drug cartel which ended up getting one of our border patrol officer killed. Never mind him protecting the black panthers holding baseball bats at voting locations with voter intimidation. He's just another example of a poor decision by BHO appointing him to be any part of his admistration.
 
He said the more extreme opponents might be motivated in part by racism. What is the problem with that?

Has it escaped everyone's notice that the voting bloc which gives the gop its tenuous grasp on relevance in this country comes from the southern states which bloc vote solidly republican? The "solid south?" Is there another reason besides its long history of racism that explains its voting customs? When the southern Democrats were in lockstep to block civil rights bills for the first hundred years after the south's trouncing in the civil war, the southerners all supported the dems and gave them the margin of victory needed over and over. When a southern president dragged the congress into passing civil rights bills in 1964 and 1965 which took the white man's boot off the neck of the blacks and allowed blacks to vote without getting lynched and to get served in the restaurants where they cooked all the food, all of a sudden the white southerners all became republicans and remain so to this day. And lest anyone wants to argue that the southerners are motivated by some ideological bias rather than pure bigotry, take a look at their school systems and all the christian academies that have supplanted the public school systems, which are a dumping ground for blacks. In mississippi, where I spend some time, the racism is so thick it resembles molasses.



Wonder why that is. Duh.

Not all southerners are vicious racists but all vicious racists are solidly anti democratic and for good cause.

Is it unfair to believe that some of the extreme opposition to Obama is based on the fact that he is part black?

Those of my friends who are still racist or white supremacists are all republican and all despise Obama..

Yes, they hated Clinton too and hate Pelosi but maybe that has a little to do with the fact that the Democratic party is the haven for the blacks and republicans don't do anything to curry favor with them? How many black congressmen are republicans again? What was it ex congressman Watts dad said? a black man being for a republican is like a chicken being for colonel sanders?

Maybe you guys who howl about playing race cards are racists? Ever cross your tiny minds? Keep in mind that most racists don't think they are racists. It might explain something, eh?

I don't have anyuse for Holder but that is because of his and Obama's abysmal record on civil liberties issues and their pathetic insistence on pushing the idiotic drug laws.

So don't write off my comments as typical Obama loving. Don't play that "card."

And taking into consideration the experience that blacks have with racism by whites, take into consideration the possibility that they may have a sharper scent for white bigotry than most whites do. Just saying.
 
Gotta love revisionist history. Get a clue folks. Abraham Lincoln was a Republican. George Wallace was a Democrat. The Democrats still have you on a plantation but it is now the plantation of Government Hosing and other government dependency. Keep voting that 95% Democrat though. It is working so well.
 
H: why do you suppose that I say that? I don;'t suppose anything of the sort. Lots of blacks are racists, some of my kin are racists towards blacks but not orientals, etc. There is plenty to goaround.

But the proposition in the OP was that Holder was playing a race card. I was pointing to evidence that maybe he was right. He limited himself to saying some of the more extreme opposition might be based in part on race.

That seems to me to be a given. And for some on this board to suggest that there is no evidence to support that proposition strikes me as insane.

Am I to believe, for example, that white supremacy has disappeared in Dixie because the feds started prosecuting white lawmen for lynching blacks? Poof, it just all disappeared with a sweep of Lyndon's hand!!!

I spend some time in the heart of Dixie and racism permeates the place. I live in south Texas and am anglo. MOst anglos are not racist but quite a few, including friends of mine, are. So are a lot of hispanics. And blacks.

So if Holder makes a tepid remark about race being a minor factor in hostility to Obama, why does anybody start suggesting he is playing a race card and that there is a problem with that?

Some white folks just don't want any black person to ever present the idea that there is still some white racism around. Wonder why.
