Why would we think that a group of 12 Senators and Congressmen can do the work that 535 Senators/Congressmen and our so-called President refuse to do? I doubt there was ever any intent for the Super Committee to actually accomplish anything. Just a way to save face during the debt crisis is all.

All this super sub committe did was give Congress more time to do nothing until the super sub committee fails to report anything to Congress by Thanksgiving, at which time, nothing will get done.

Thank God for elections and the Country Class.

Hornpharmd, if I go on Twitter and try to start a campaign to put pressure on my colleagues to do something, is that leadership?

Wouldn't it be better to map out a plan and then go actually MEET WITH PEOPLE directly to present the plan and explain to them why my plan is a good idea? Isn't that a better example of leadership?

Maybe you consider it leadership to call people names and chastise them?

The good thing is when this Super Committee fails, automatic cuts in spending occurs!!!!

That is the way I understand it, but I think there is something behind the curtain that we haven't heard about yet or I am unaware of.....

That is the way it is supposed to work but wont. When the time comes for the autocuts it will be decided by all the decision makers that the effects would be too draconian and another substitute plan will be put in place. Its major feature will be that it will postpone harsh cuts.
