Surge in LA mansion construction

ScoPro,
I would probably buy a large ranch in Texas, and build a house on there in the range of 5,000-7,000 sq. ft. if money were no object.

60-story single family residence in India

I have since heard the project was "value-engineered" down to a measly 27 stories, but still...

If money were no object my house would have an indoor olympic size pool, a smaller kid-friendly indoor pool, an indoor basketball court, indoor batting cages, maybe a field-turf indoor soccer field / arena football field, a fitness center with free weights and machines, a racquetball court, probably an indoor hardcourt tennis facility, and we haven't even gotten to the living spaces yet.

My living space would probably top out at 5,000 square feet, though. But that other stuff would add up pretty quickly.

I would buy a small private island in the Caribbean, build a nice place on it just big enough for the two of us, and quarters for the small, but decidedly efficient private security force (to fend off extended family and other evil persons). And I'd live nekkid.

I would have a few places instead of one monster home. A flat in London, an Apt. in St. Germain (Paris), a pad in Vancouver, places like that. Somewhere I can just go to without needing a hotel in cities I really like. I could let friends stay at any of them anytime to save on hotel costs and encourage them to travel.

I would also not ever buy a luxury box at DKR. I would buy a good sized grouping of seats and in addition to having friends with me, I would give them away to charities like Big Brother/Big Sister, school teachers and their families, cops, social workers. People like that so they can see a great game in a great place with mediocre fans every once in awhile.

Definitely a ranch in Texas. But maybe a couple of different structures instead of one big house. Hacienda-type situation.

A condo on the Vegas strip. And a place on Pebble Beach. Oh, and just for grins, a mountain side villa in the Swiss Alps. You know, for when Helga and I need to kick back and throw down some lagers and watch UT football on the IMAX theater screen.
