Supercommittee to screw veterans first

Apparently both parties are willing to gut veterans' health benefits.

I have no problem with cutting veterans' health benefits if that's what it takes to balance the budget. What pisses me off about this is that veterans are getting their benefits cut first.

I haven't heard anything about federal employees and retirees having their benefits cut. I haven't heard anything about Medicare or Social Security being cut or changed.

Since we actually owe veterans for their sacrifice to the count, we should cut their benefits last, not first. (Besides, it's so little money in the grand scheme of things, it's not going to make a dent.)

I am haven't really been following, but certainly they have not finalized their spending cut recommendations yet.
