Every super regional game will be televised by ESPN on either ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPN3.com.

I don’t know if it will factor into the decision, but 5 teams on the UT side of the bracket already clinched a super regional berth whereas only 3 teams on the other side of the bracket have clinched. With fewer teams on the UT side of the bracket having Monday games, they could have them play the Fri-Sun series in order to give the teams on the other side an extra day of rest.

I honestly believe the only factor is which side of the bracket ESPN wants to go on opening day. TV rules every decision these days.

I heard on the post game that UT has requested SSM because state finals for 1A and 2A will be at the Disch through Thursday night. If we start on Friday, neither team will get a real opportunity to have full practice at the field.

Good Lord, that would be PERFECT!

I can't make the dang Friday night game so was dreading missing my first Horn home Regional or Super Game since '00. Monday at 6:00 PM lets us work our day jobs and take off a bit early. So perfect.

I vote for a Saturday start so our CWS start would be on Sunday, not Saturday, thus giving me Friday evening & Saturday to drive to Omaha.
