Sunburn Remedies

OK I got a REALLY bad sunburn covering my whole upper body, needless to say it hurts like hell.

Ive been taking cold showers, piling on the aloe, and taking ibuprofen for the pain but I was just wondering if anyone had any other remedies to turn this burn into a nice tan or stop it from hurting?

Hydrocortisone cream seems to be the only thing you're not doing.

vinegar

sounds stupid but it actually works. It helps the skin retain moisture and turn the red to tan without peeling. Get in the shower and pour a little bit into your hand and rub it over the burned areas.

Benadryl and a topical lidocaine spray are good choices as well. Benadryl will help the itching. Aloe is only good the first couple of days.

After 6 or 8 shots of tequilla, you don't notice it too much.

Take as hot a shower as you can stand for a few minutes. It seems to draw the heat out. Not very scientific but try it.

I am a dermatologist. A strong topical steroid will do wonders, but this is a prescription. For extreme cases, oral corticosteroids are needed.

i've been using the vinegar trick since birth it seems. it works wonders. it seems to pull the heat right out of the sunburn.
