Watching the International feed here in the Caribbean this morning. Thought opening game deserved its own thread.

Sea of red in Basel. Amazing how much noise 42000 packed in fans can make.

Very tactical first half. No really tremendous scoring opportunities, a few that could have developed but didnt. Koller up front should be dominating but the Czechs are struggling to get him set up. 0-0 at the half. Frei injured late and is probably out for game. From the first half performance, neither team looks strong enough to hang with Portugal.

I am really looking forward to the Portugal v. Other Other White Meat after this match.
