Thanks little12. Unfortunately the issue is not soccer alone. The issue was and is the leadership of the women's side of the Athletic Department. You could substitute basketball and softball for soccer and the blog entry will still be correct.
The one issue not raised, but is present, is the fact that aggy men basically were irrelevant in the SWC (except in the cheating years) and Big 12. As women sports grew aggy paid attention to the women's side as a way to show something to the alumni (I refuse to call them ex-students).
I had the same thought Viper. Although the example is extreme in soccer, isn't there an overall failure in the leadership of women's athletics at UT? It is a shame to see basketball having fallen the way it has. Soccer, despite spending a lot of money on name coaches, never even got off the ground!
