I'll be traveling to houston for about 4 days and staying in a hotel. i'm guessing that the tv there won't have the video, audio (red, yellow and white connections). is there some sort of adapter I can get for this obstacle? i have succumbed to dorking out on my business trip, i know

thanks in advance

Most of the TV's have the A/V connections on them so you might not need anything. If there is just a RF cable connection than you can buy an RF adapter for about $25.

something like this would work:

However, why would you think the tv wouldn't have audio/video input jacks? Pretty much any tv made in the past 10 -12 years will have them.

I believe Sony actually makes an RF adapter for this. It is pretty much like what was used with the first Nintendo. Instead of using the supplied RCA cables that came with your PS2, it is an RF connector that plugs into the back. You should be able to find this at Target or somewhere. I know they had them when the first PlayStation was out and since both use the same plug type for the video connection, I don't see why they would still be available. This would save you the trouble of going through a seperate convertor and having to carry around more wiring.

A work buddy of mine took his PS2 on one of our road trips last spring. We stayed in a full-service Marriott and had to buy some thingamajig from Radio Shack to make it work. It was only like $15 or $20 and the guys at Shack will know what you need.

I was in Best Buy today. They do have the Sony RF adapters made for the PlayStations. They were $14.99. It just plugs into the back of the PS2 where you would plug in the video cable plug, then instead of the RCA cables, it has the RF hook up. Probably the best way to go since you won't want to carry around an RF convertor, its power supply, and extra coax.
