Strong wasted no time getting to Dallas after Wednesday's press conference. My brother, an Aggie, saw him at the 7 p.m. Service at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship and said he was invited by Pastor Tony Evans into the pulpit at 8:30 P.M. Strong said a few words about Christ's importance in his life and mentioned the rules about consequences for skipping class (first time, player runs, second time position group runs, third time position group and position coach run.") My brother said Strong made a good impression. The church draws a lot of worshipers from South Dallas, De Soto, Duncanvile, and Cedar Hill ... football recruiting hotbeds. My brother said he's not sure the impact for Strong's message for college atheletes, but thought it would be very persuasive to the mothers and dads of prospective college athletes.

great move. family/character/accountability. if tony evans doesn't mind giving the pulpit over to strong, then you know there is a significant trust factor in strong's integrity.

Tony Evans has a US reach. One of the best speakers I've heard. Great that coach gets some air time, but I hope he keeps it to character/morals. The recruiting will follow.

Charlie Strong, Usurper of the Throne. For the glory of Texas Football and recruiting evangelism. You may be seated. Amen.

Yes indeed.. I have been a memeber at OCBF since 2007. Strong exudes strong (no pun) character and commands attention. Very excited to see him at our church. Our congregation regularly includes a number of current and former NFL and NBA players. We have had Kitna, Warner, Tim Brown, Ray Lewis attend, those are the guys i remember. Warner and Kitna earned a newfound level of respect from me after hearing their testimony. Pastor Evans has never been a fan of the Longhorns (his son Jonathan was a RB @ Baylor), so it was a surprise to see Coach Strong ! Bruce Chambers was with him.. I have a picture, no cloud storage though, so Im not sure how to share it here.
He rocked his trademark turtleneck (not orange though)

That was a good movie.

Glad to hear Coach Strong out on the recruiting trail and earning his paycheck. Seems already different than what we had.

Hornpharm, if he recruits half as good as Mack I think we will all be happy.
I know Mack has taken a lot of heat for a myriad of things, but recruiting? Recruiting will never be one.
