Stretch Run
Some good things are still possible. Win our last 3 home games and least one of our home games (Texas Tech and West Virginia), and the team finishes 9-9 in conference with a real chance to be a top 4 seed in the Big 12 tournament. This is not a walk in the park, but it is a viable scenario. Check out MRED's Big 12 Bracket generator atThe Link
With the exception of Baylor and Oklahoma, road games have been hard to come by for all teams.

None of those were goals set for Texas at the beginning of the season.

Re: Stretch Run
hoopsalot,
mine came out with Texas as a 3 seed and possible meeting with Baylor in the finals. I like that projection.
Frankly, I think Texas has an excellent shot at sweeping the remaining games. The big question mark is whether our guards have started to come out of their slump. Brooke and Brady certainly have shown signs of that over the past three games while Brianna has been clutch as well.
Looking forward to seeing how the season ends.

Re: Stretch Run
Fingers crossed that everyone can get healthy. Not having Nekia on the floor really hurts as she was Nneka's main backup inside, and she can hit the 3-point shot. Her losing conditioning hurts when she does return to the court, but can't play extended minutes due to fatigue.
And, since we never know which guards will play, a healthy Empress adds options as she (when in control) is our best penetrator, and if she can get out of her shooting slump, can really add to a non-existent and wildly inconsistent mid-range game.
The mid-range games of Baylor and OSU were something we couldn't match, or defend, unfortunately. Their shooters are just better and more consistent than ours.
As with the men, the women's squad needs to continue improving and playing consistently in all phases, and both at home and on the road. Winning at Tech or WVU won't be easy for this squad.

Re: Stretch Run
Amazing how we put the cart before the horse. Lose to KSU and this season is a total failure from what was such a promising start.
