Streaming video of games this year

It appears all the home games will be live streamed video on TexasSports.com. I did not check it yesterday because I was at the game. Did anyone watch it and how was it? If, in fact they do stream the games and it works well, isn't technology great?

The video seems better than in the past. It's great that it is free.

My only thing, and I've been saying this for a while, is why do we not have a camera in center field for the pitching view?

I've gotten used to seeing this view from the press box, but it sure would be nice to have the normal look you see on every baseball game on TV.

After Keyes was hit by a pitch, the announcer said "We'll see what Coach Gustafson decides to do about this."

Keith Moreland is maybe my favorite baseball commentator ever and there've obviously been some great ones. His breakdown of every pitch of an at-bat adds a depth to the game that most are incapable of describing. Really, really glad to have him.

Yesterday's blowout was the first game I've watched. I got a lot of skipping like an old scratched record. Also, there was a lot of "stand still" video where the video stops for several seconds and then catches up to real time. Is this a problem with the streaming video system, with my ISP, or with my four-year-old Dell lap top? Any comments would be appreciated.

The video feed is actually quite good compared to what some other schools have, although I agree that some different angles would be nice.

I don't think Bill Little is all that up-to-speed on baseball. Of course he's good with the historical stuff. That's his job. But he's not so great with the rules of the game. He actually asked Keith today what determines whether or not a batter gets a timeout when he asks for one. Keith was struggling not to sound condescending when he said "Well, basically, if the umpire gives it to you, you get the timeout, and if he doesn't, then you don't."

With that said, I love Craig Way. Nothing quite like listening to Craig and Keith call a Texas baseball game. Keith just needs to stop with the phrase du jour. One Linda Ronstadt reference per season is more than enough. Four in one weekend is overdoing it.

The comment about the sound volume is a good one. However, about mid-way through the game I had to start turning my volume down so they must have done something to boost the volume during the game. The Sunday streaming was great, as far as I was concerned. I wish we could get it for the tournament in Houston this weekend.

Does this work for any mac users? I tried both FF 2.0 and Safari 3.0 with no luck. In FF, the site is trying to get me to install an old activex add-on for FF 1.5.

dayton,
Could be either your ISP or your computer. I had the same problems you're describing on our old Mac at home trying to watch the March Madness On Demand but not with the company provided tablet. But it would happen to me here at work on the same tablet when trying to go through the company network (yes, the company network is slower than my DSL at home).

Friday, I had trouble with going through the firewall but once connected through the public network, it streamed fine using Firefox.
