Streaming LHN

I had the AT&T streaming a couple years ago and it was got awful as far as buffering and AT&T kept blaming my Internet service until I tried Hulu for free for 30 days and had no trouble.

But AT&T was the only service that has the Longhorn network. I’ve done research folks just checking before I go back to AT&T, is anyone aware of anyway that I can get the Longhorn network streaming...besides ATT?

I was an early adopter for AT&T TV Now (used to be DirecTV Now) and I've never had any issues with it. I have pretty decent download speeds though. Along with Sling, it's the only streaming service that provides LHN. PlayStation Vue used to, but it's defunct now.

The only other "sort of streaming" service I know that provides it is T-Mobile's version of TV (TVision), but that one requires a proprietary cable-box-esque thing that you attach to your TV input. You're forced to use their hardware instead of your own device.

Your best bet if you don't want AT&T TV Now or Sling is to just get a cable provider who has "normal" packages that include it, and then use their streaming app to show live TV. Spectrum, Charter, Verizon, AT&T, etc. all have it on their plans, and all have some form of Roku or FireTV app or web browser version that will show live TV without a cable box. The way things are going with services like YouTube TV, they cost the same as cable now, so it's no-harm-no-foul to just retain your current cable plan and not use their boxes to watch TV.

Yes I had DIRECTV then went to AT&T streaming and man I’m telling you it was really really bad. Thank you so much for taking the time out to respond

Just being a smart *** and giving you a hard time.
Good luck.
I also used to use PlayStation Vue before it went away.
Yep, I had DTV, the ATT, the PSVUe...
Thanks guys for the sling, I did look in a sling says they didn’t have it until you guys told me to look for the sports package so bravo I’m in. God bless

The AT&T TV NOW app has made many changes in the last two years including HBO Max, ESPN etc. Lots of options to consider.

It has multiple streams and can be used on multiple devices - smartphones, Amazon Fire, laptops, PC etc.

We have one account and use it at multiple locations.

VPN can be your friend.

I'm in the same boat as Moon was. Always relied on PSVue and was very pleased...now it gone.
I usually rely on LHN. ESPN, and FS1 to get through college season.
Can any of you tell me which of ESPNs online package or Slings offerings have all three of these?
Either, neither, or both?

Thanks fellas

Does the ATT app carry espn, FS1, and LHN....and can you subscribe without a cable account?

I’m keeping Hulu and added Sling for $40 a month .... just for the football season.Overall slightly higher than att, but based upon the lack of customer supporting help from att, I just can’t commit to them for a year.

LH used to be part of the Orange package, now you have to pay extra for it, and to get everything that may have a LH FB game you have to get Orange and Blue and sports extra, like Bill posted for $60.

I guess not too bad. It's still probably the best deal. I had ATT uverse and it was horrible, never could record anything because it kept going out so I'm not about to do ATT now. $190/mo for the worst service I've ever had is ridiculous.

It's too bad Mobdro or OLA don't have LHN, they have all the other ESPN channels. LHN is the only thing I can't get for free so I'll probably get Sling at least for the FB season and see how well it works.

Have been using AT&T TV Now (formerly DirecTV Now) since launch 3-4 years ago and pay $70 a month for 150+ channels w local broadcast, all the sports channels incl DVR cloud and on demand channels and use on up to 6 devices. They have a wireless bundle w ATT TV but no idea as we have a different ATT wireless pkg. Cut my TV costs by over half and still have more channels that we use. Save about $130/mo over previous.

Yes but they've really reduced a lot of their lineup for new subscribers. I'm in the same boat as @PecosBill and I got in with DirecTV NOW back when it was the 150 channels for only $35/month. They've upped it to $65 but we got to keep our channels. Now, the top tier is like $110/month for 80 channels. LHN is included in their mid- and high-tier packages. HBO Max is too.

I don't think I'm saving any money by doing it this way, because I could pay $65/month from my Internet service provider to just add on the package of TV and get LHN and watch it on their streaming live TV app for Roku or FireTV or AppleTV or whatever. I've heard that Google will never let YouTubeTV add LHN because of a feud with the Disney networks, and that Hulu will never add it to their live TV package because it would compete with their NBC properties.

And ESPN+ package will NOT get you LHN. Everyone should be forewarned of that.

Thanks, 11....and others.
So have we concluded getting Slings full package is the most cost effective way to get all three of those channels??
And concluded espn+ does not offer all three..
And concluded ATT does but is pricier than Sling (and maybe less consistent, service-wise)
???
That is what I am getting from this thread if I'm not mistaken

I'm trying to find the article, but something like 90% of EPL viewers do it through illegal streams. People literally just mirror the main broadcast feeds on YouTube through a VPN with no repercussions outside of shutting down the stream and disabling that YouTube account. It's easy to find them for LHN, though I don't condone it as I'm one of the paying customers.

I think anything that isn't live news or sports is going to switch to a streaming format within the next 5 years anyhow, and then the live stuff will be forced to admit that there is no benefit to the "cable corporation" way of paying for TV.

Just to clarify one point I think I saw, you cannot get it from Apple TV. Also I have tried backdooring numerous times to zero success. Just saying.

I mean the AppleTV hardware running a tv service provider app, not the AppleTV+ streaming service.

If you've tried backdooring and had no success, there are lots of options but they're all typically on non-Windows, non-Mac operating systems (Kodi or OpenElec) and use some pretty basic search functions. I think when we played KU or whoever the LHN game was last year, there were at least 100 different qualities of streams going when I looked through it.
