103 mph heater followed by an 82 mph curve that breaks from the shoulders to the ankles...disgusting...like Nolan Ryan/Koufax disgusting. Forget Lebron. This guy is unbelievable.

It will really make my stomach sick if the Yankees just poach this guy in 5 years. DC is a city that can support big time sports franchises though. The Caps are the most valuable NHL franchise. The Skins are one of the most valuable NHL franchises. It's a big market city that needed big market players. Strasburg is the guy they've been waiting for.

It's a huge mistake, IMO, though to bring up Bryce Harper as a corner outfielder. Let him learn the catcher position. Mauer was able to retain his phenom offensive skills into the majors while also being a gold glove backstop. While this is bordering on the too ridiculous to believe, Harper is even more advanced than Mauer at this age. Could you have imagined a battery of Nolan Ryan to Johnny Bench? That's what the Nats could have had here.

All of the scouts say that Harper doesn't have the skill set for the 2 spot. Anyone can throw down high schoolers, but if you don't have the motion to get up and go, then you're going to be "Saltalamacchia - ed" before you know it. I think Outfield makes perfect sense for him, given his speed and arm strength.

Ryan pitched against the '27 Yankees? Man I knew he was old, but....

J/K. Strasburg will bring this franchise to a WS contender. I don't know if it can be done this year but heck, they are only 6 games out in their division.

incredible highlights. I really don't watch too much major league baseball outside of the Rangers. I didn't realize he was going up against the worst team in baseball.

I would like to see him go up against a decent team.

While I'll admit this guy has a World of potential, let's tap the brakes before we compare him to one of the greatest pitchers baseball has ever seen.

i agree, i was just saying i havent seen a guy throw that hard with that kind of curve and changeup in a long time. pitching has sucked so bad in recent years, there havent been many guys like him. there were a lot of them in the 80's and 90's. i also noted he was playing the pirates and once they get a book on himm he is going to have a tougher time. he did give up a dinger. he could be the next kerry wood. i watched him strike out 20 astros in a game.

Conversation lunch time....Strasburg graduated from HS at 15, he was batting and crushing the ball, pitching and killing everyone. He went to a JUCO for 2 years and look at him now. He's the real deal.
