Now, here is the weirdness, Minnesota has lost 3 in a row, rangers still have a chance to catch them, for best or 2nd best record in the league, and
the Red Sox, IF they win tonight against the Yankees, they have a mathematical chance to catch the Yankees and win the wild-card.
The more likely of the two is Boston catching NY. They have four games with each other left.
If Minnesota gets caught resting starters, etc, and is mired in a 7-8 game losing streak, it's gonnna be hard to turn it on again, so that's where the other possibility comes in.
Then if Boston wins their remaining games, and NY loses 2, I think that gives Boston the wild card.
