UT athletic facilities take a hit

Last night’s storms did some minor damage to the University of Texas’ athletic facilities.

The winds cracked the top of the center field fence at UFCU Disch-Falk Field. Tree limbs also were scattered throughout the parking lot.

The tent on top of Moncrief-Neuhaus, adjacent to the football offices, was toppled. It was in the process of being replaced before the storms.

Part of the right field fence at McCombs softball field was blown down. Two tents also were blown away at the track stadium. The padding in the pole vault pit suffered damage as well.

There was no damage to the on-going construction project at the north end zone at Royal-Memorial Stadium.

I've only seen one turf related error on us this season...there have been several on our opponents. I'm not sure y'all will like the option we wind up with any better...it won't be grass.

I drove by this morning and noticed the green monster was leaning. When I drove by again later in the day and saw no workers fixing it yet I was surprised. I guess they plan to fix it in the morning.

Which way was it leaning? If it's leaning in, leave it alone. Let KR hit a few off it in BP; that should fix it.
