storing washer/dryer refrigerator

Is there anything special that one must do here? for the fridge, i know i need to take off the door, or at least wedge it completely open.

what about the washer/dryer? both front loaders. i'm not crazy about selling them, because they are real nice power efficient front loaders and only a year and a half old. i've heard that the oil congeals or some **** and ruins them. anybody know?

we're talking at least a year of storage here.

yeah i'm moving to japan for a year. my realtor told me some story about washers and dryers not working when we come back. i wasn't sure whether or not to believe her.

Maybe she just wants to get her hands on your washer/dryer, the grasping *****.

On a mostly unrelated topic, I hear that big HDTVs go bad when placed in storage for a year. Like they blow up or something. PM me for information on an incredible service I am now offering to people in your unique situation.

Although the dryers are not a big deal, the front load washers might be. Depending on the model you have... Maytags seals are bad, and may develop mildew. There is usually a little bit of water left on the bottom of the outer tub (you can't see it). If you're gonna store, make sure you spin out all the water as MUCH AS POSSIBLE. Manually spin the tub and you may be able to hear the water move around.

Also, when moving the machines, with the front-load washer, it would be good if you put the shipping rods back into the machine. You may otherwise end up with larger issues.
