Stopping SPAM Text Messages to Mobile Phone (ATT)

Started receiving SPAM text messages to one of the mobile phone lines. AT&T service. They weren't exactly helpful in the matter. Anyone have any suggestions on how to stop this?

I also have AT&T and they told me just to reply "Stop" to the spam text. They were actually very helpful and even refunded the costs of the spam texts and a little extra to cover the costs of sending the "Stop" messages.

I should note that I'm not sure if this actually works as I just went ahead and had all texts blocked since I don't send texts or want to receive texts (spam or otherwise).

Duckie, did you call the (800) number or go into an AT&T store?

I was literally next door to one of their stores, so I walked in and asked them how to stop it and the clueless chick told me it can't be done. We just had to deal with it. Nice. I'll try the (800) later today, but just wanted to check to see if someone else has any experience with this.

I called customer service (800 number). Sorry that you received such bad advice/service. They really were very helpful over the phone.

I have Verizon and get these things from time to time. And the messages are kind formal with "Hey, it's Vince" along with their spiel.
