Stoops-Brown Rivalry for the ages

Great article. Compares Stoops-Brown to the all time great coaching rivalries like Woody-Bo, Royal, Broyles, Switzer-Osborne, Bryant-Jordan, etc...

So, what's the best coaching rivalry of all time? My personal favorite is Bowden-Spurier

Thats a tough one.Ive been watching College football since about 86 when I was 7 yrs old.So I missed a lot of the greats. But looking back historically Switzer-Osborne.It seems there aren't as many great ones as in the past,The rivalry's themselves are still good but it seems like coaches come and go_Ou-Tex are lucky to have had these coaches as long as they have.Bowden and Spurrier is a good place to start though.

The personality differences make the Brown-Stoops rivalry pretty damn interesting. They have completely different styles but they have both been really successful.

I think jBrown has to get more wins in the RRS to make this a truely great rivalry. And also Brown has to get a few more Big 12 south Championships.

I would say now that most objective observers would say Bob baby eater stoops is on top in just about every catagory, except for number of MNC's won. Thank god for VY and that 2005 bunch!!

All I'm saying is that this thing needs to get evened up. How about starting with this year. No excuses please.

When Texas opens the season against Florida Atlantic. Mack Brown will be starting his 11th season here. Only one other coach has lasted longer.

I don't see any way both Brown and Stoops are around for another decade.
