Prolly know this and don't care, but the the Stooge's guitarist, Ron Asheton, died a couple of days ago. His influence cannot be accurately assessed as it is so far reaching both musically and culturally.

Funhouse is as good a rock and roll record as there is. Bluesy, primitive, jazzy, sophisticated, and dripping with a joy for life rooted in abandon and venom, Funhouse is a paragon of youthful expression and the idea that most people should **** off.

Sleep easy, guy, you did good.

Great post. Couldn't have said it better. Funhouse's opener - "Down on the Street" - is as raw and primitive as rock-n-roll gets. Awesome stuff.

RIP Ron
