Congrats on a great career Steve! He was my favorite player growing up. Father figure to Vince. So many fond memories. The Superbowl, Tennessee's amazing run to the AFC Championship game that the Titans lost but he wouldn't give up in 2002, where he was banged up very badly at the end of the season where he couldn't even practice, his MVP season in 2003, and leading the Ravens to a 13-3 record in 2006, his first year with the team. A true warrior. Played through all of those injuries, sadly they finally caught up to him. He was a great competitor and had the heart of a champion, even though he never got a ring (he came pretty damn close to tying that SB with the Rams), hes still a winner in my book. I hope he will make it to Canton one of these days. Congrats again Steve on a great career! Thanks for the memories!

Loved his determination on the field. He left it out there every game he played.
Maybe now he can resume his role as mentor to VY.

Too bad he didn't stick around and help Vince his first two years. McNair would have probably started at least 1 year and Vince would have some veteran guidance.

As a jilted Houston Oiler fan, I really couldn't hate the Tennesse Titans because of Steve McNair. Is he a Hall of Famer? He was in four Pro-Bowls and had one MVP year. He also was a pretty good running quarterback in his early years (2nd only to Steve Young in yards). His passing stats don't blow you away, but he was on run-oriented teams in Houston and Baltimore (Eddie George and Jamal Lewis, etc). He best receiver was maybe Derrick Mason. Is there a place for intangibles in the eyes of the Hall of Fame voters (leadership, toughness)? Hope he get in one day.
