Beck's is the worst beer produced at either of those breweries. Bud and Bud Light are right down there with it. And I know its blasphemous, but I actually prefer ZiegenBock to Shiner Bock.

I'd chose a Stella over a Bud any day. Hopefully they will make some improvements in the prduct quality if they buy the company.

Cool, I'll check around for it here. I prefer the Belgian ales of course, but they do pilsners pretty well, too.

Maes and Jupiler were the national pilsner mainstays when I was over there, and Stella was still considered the local beer in the town of Leuven where I was living/working. InterBrew had already bought them at that time, but hadn't really gone mass production with them yet, and it was still a very good beer until a bit later.
