Although the SNS I had this weekend was friggen as good as I remembered them.

one of their side items is ******* cottage cheese with pineapple for crissake. and their fries are an embarrassment.

I have no bias agaisnt them or for whataburger, but steak n shake is awful and overpriced.

point being if that's their idea of an acceptable side item, how good could their burger really be? i'll answer my own question with my own opinion - a small, bad, overpriced burger. not to mention the time it takes for them to prepare it.

fast food burgers available in texas that are better than steak n shake:

any number of establishments that i have yet to visit.

but by all means, enjoy your proximate steak n shake.

I was wondering about this place. Saw the one open in Southpark Meadows, but never tried it. From what it sounds, Whataburger and Dan's/Frans seem to be the better deal. I'll stick with those! Taco Bueno on the other hand... I'll have to try that out!

I haven't been to a Steak N Shake in Texas yet, but there's one on Cobb Parkway just outside 285 in Marietta, and I go there for lunch every time I go to Marietta on business. The burgers and fries are OK; the shakes are terrific. And there's always a bunch of folks from Dobbins there for lunch (the locals, especially the military, know where to eat).
