Thank you, for much of my life baseball has been something to pass time with between the NCAA tournament or at least when UT dropped out of it, and the last of August.
For the pros it seemed like with (162?) regular season games sports pages would be required every day. With football you get a week to study what happened and what might happen next. I like college sports much more than pros anyway and once I kind of got into the rhythm of the thing, I find it exciting to watch somebody I am rooting for knock the ball hard. Of course the easy stuff is interesting to me too.
Such as there are only (barring ties and rainouts or emergencies)
134,217,728 ways the conference race can finish up.
With each of these there is only one winner at this point.
Texas has a 15.625 percent chance of winning the tournament. Whoever comes in second has the same. 3rd and 4th each have 12.5 % chance and the other 4 only 10.9375 percent chance.
I'm proud of my ciphering, just ignorant about a lot of things about baseball. Hopefully Texas can stretch their participation as long as anyone else this year. They did it last year thankfully.
