Starseeds Cafe

I went there the other night with themooge and alxhorns after a night of drinking.

I hadn't been there in a while - they really cleaned it up, but that might be a bad thing.

I had the migas, which is pretty standard for me. They weren't great. A little bland and they charged 50 cents for an extra tortilla.
The coffee was good though.

Anybody been lately?

Yeah, it is not as seedy as it used to be. The staff is not as rude to people they don't know either. It was fun watching newbies or dummies there. The items I usually order there are just as good or better so I don't have any issue with the food.

I have heard a few items are not the same, however. Never had Migas there.

I haven't been there in years, but the food there was always allsome after a night out on the town!! Their gingerbread pancakes were the shiznit!!!

Since I moved a little farther north and don't go downtown very often, I just don't get a chance to go by there. Plus I try to avoid driving on I-35 like the plague.

Don't the same guys own Abel's now?

yeah, they own that, abel's, partial in aztec printing, and a few other companies.

the spanish omelette is the only way to go, by the way.

my wife went to high school with those guys (she said the owners are two brothers). she heard that their dad, a well-moneyed fort worth dude, gave them a pretty hefty helping hand in acquiring those restaurants. they did a good job with cain & abel's, but i've never been to starseeds.

i don't understand why anyone would eat at a place where you know they spit on the food and the employees purposefully don't wash their hands after taking a dump

eeshhhh
