Stanford = Wounded Dog

Just 2-6 on the season ... they've lost 5 straight to St. Mary's and Fullerton.

Their pitching staff seems to be giving up tons of runs as well. I'd be disappointed if we didn't get the series win ... and I don't think it's unrealistic to be hopeful of a sweep.

You can't go 52-0 without starting 13-0 ...

Start us off Chance ...

Always be weary of a wounded animal. Horns need to bring their A game. We haven't fared to well on the left coast the last few years.

If the last three years are any indication, the West Coast is where the best baseball in the nation is played.

Stanford going 2-6 against the teams out there (and Vanderbilt which is not a bad team) means nothing. Stanford will be where we find out what sort of team we really have.

Shut them down Horns! No more than 4 given up this weekend.

If by wounded dog you mean a chihuahua, I guess I'm with you.

Seriously, though, they have the talent to play well. It'll be interesting to see our starting rotation for the 3 game weekend series. Probably Ruffin, Green, and Workman (though I would have thought Workman would start on Saturday and not Sunday). Presumably going with the sophmores that have been in the fire before.

it's Stanford..

we dont' have a shot in hell. we're lucky if we get one win. let's be realistic, sunshine pumpers

I want to be the first to wish Barton Hills a happy birthday tomorrow ! But if you are reading this on Saturday then it is today.

Welcome to the almost an old man club.

From the '08 Media Guide we are 20-23-1 (all time) against Stanford, I included the '08 series which Stanford won 2 of 3. In '02 and '05 our championship years, we lost 2 of 3 and swept, respectively.

This is a great college baseball series. With that said, the college baseball season is a marathon, not a sprint, and you play to host a regional and a top 8 national seed, and don't put too much emphasis on one series. As our Master says, "pitch by pitch, inning by inning, stay in the moment."
