Texas leads Stanford 2 to 1 in the bottom of the 8th.

Texas 2 runs on 6 hits and Stanford 1 run on 2 hits.

Taylor has been awesome and Texas has had little offense.

Loy with a single, Payton hit a triple and Weiss rbi single. Bottom of the 8th Texas now leads 4 to 1 with one out and runner on first.

Loy is the only Horn with 2 hits. That is a big lead for Taylor

I think commentary is correct - batters are still "learning" about the new bats. It does seem, at least in this game, that we have found a way to wake them up!!!

- 1 at this point.

I think Texas is waiting too long to take Taylor out, it is 4 to 3 Texas, Stanford and 2 on with 2 outs. Looks like he got tired in the 9th. Knebel in to try and close it out. Texas needs a closer!

It's kind of sad how we could always rely on a shutdown guy at closer, and now we don't have the luxury. I feel like I took it for granted all those years!

Groundout to pitcher. Horns 4 Stanford 3

Texas 4 runs on 9 hits, no homers again

with 0 errors
Stanford 3 runs on 6 hits with 1 error.

Taylor is 3 - 0 and Knebel got the save.

I know Texas is ranked 12th and Stanford 15th but Texas beat a quality team today who has faced a great schedule so far.

Nice to see our bats step up, and I'm sure the rest of the college baseball world is happy to see that Taylor is human.

Was this against Stanford's ace?

Checking their pitching stats from last years 31 - 25 team and from early this year, not sure if they have an ace. The dude that pitched today for Stanford was 2 - 1 with era of about 6 last year, this year he is 0 - 2 with a nice era though. But it seems Stanford's pitching is not their strength? It is pretty good overall but not great.
