Stanford-ASU

Glad I stayed up for this... very interesting game.

ASU led by 10 in the second half, then Stanford goes on a 24-2 run, to lead by 13... then ASU puts it (mostly) on James Harden and goes to OT... and, without Jeff Pendergraph (fouls) wins it, 71-68.

That's amazing. I wish I'd watched it.

Before the Kansas game I was saying it was a battle between Stanford and Texas over who was more overrated. After the results of this week, it looks like neither of them will be this coming Monday.

The Lopez twins are good, but I just don't see it. Arizona should beat them again on Saturday. Stanford's best n-c win was against Tech. Really.

Eric Boateng held it together for the Sun Devils when Pendergraph fouled out. Harden... it's a matter of time for that guy, as to when he wants to leave, not if...

That game was on a regional feed, wasn't it? I have got to get the sports package added to our Direct TV bill.

I'm a Devil (and Longhorn

), and I couldn't be more proud of the job Herb Sendek has done this year. He's got the guys playing with intensity on defense and disciplined on offense. Y'all have to remember, this ASU team was the worst in the Pac 10 last year. Now, this year they have wins over Oregon, Xavier, Stanford, and Arizona (twice). If they make the tourney, Sendek deserves COY consideration.

Also, how aggy is NC-State? They chased off a guy who goes to the tourney every year because he can't beat Duke and NC. Hope they're happy.

There are a lot of crazy fans, and a lot of wacky message board dynamics, but NC State fans don't have to take a back seat to anyone on those two accounts.

I'm just glad they weren't able to get Barnes, because I know he thought about it a little bit.

Maybe they can match up Arizona State against Texas in the tournament so Rick Barnes can kick Sendek's butt again, just like he did two years ago. Ha ha ha.

Seriously, Sendek has done really well. Matt Painter will probably be COY for what he's doing at Purdue. I know the Big 10+1 is down, but watching the Boilermakers I can't believe they're doing so well. They have one great athlete (Moore) and a bunch of guys who just scrap and scrap and outwork their opponent. Great story.

Enjoyed watching it here in L.A. since I have to watch all the PAC-10 games over and over again. They love to repeat games here.

those are the same people who still think Jimmy Valvano is God for 1983.

I'm am so sick of the fraud that stanford is perpetrating on the nation. I looked at their schedule and did not find a single high qulaity win.

We have at least 5 wins as good as any single win they have. They've also lost 3 times even before this ASU game. The fact that they were rated ahead of us (and I've seen them as no lower than a 3 seed in most brackets) is a travashamockery.

I just don't get it. Glad they lost, hope they lose to Arizona and fall down to around 25 or so and a 7 or 8 seed which is where they belong, imo.
