Yes, assuming things stay as they are now, Texas would play St. John's tomorrow afternoon, and the winner of that game would play Rice tomorrow night and would need to win and then beat them again on Monday night to advance to supers.
I thought I read that they had recently made him the closer, but I didn't realize he only had three starts. I know he started at least two of the games against Texas.
Don't think he pitched in any of the games against Texas because I don't remember him.
Just checked the box score of the game Texas won against Rice, and Riley Boening was the starter of that game. Only went 2 innings and gave up 2 hits, but no runs and no walks on 20 pitches. Kasparek and Workman started the other two, but they were pretty much all pitcher-by-committee. It should be noted that in three games against the Owls, Austin Wood has not pitched against them at all.
That's very strange. Last time I checked last night, they had St. John's up there. Unless St. John's quit or was disqualified for something late last night, Texas is playing St. John's at 2:00 and (hopefully) Rice at 6:00.
So I wonder what happens today with Texas and St. John's. In the last meeting of these two teams, Texas was the home team. But yesterday, St. John's was the home team against Rice while Texas was the visiting team against SHSU.
I'm guessing they'll either go with the first criteria satisfied, or they'll flip for it.
