I'm going to have my yard sodded with St. Augustine in the next week or two. My plan right now is to go without any solid edging (the grass will nestle up to the mulch in the flower beds). I've seen this done a few places in Austin and I like the way it looks, not to mention that I'll save money since I don't have to purchase edging.
My question... is it really labor intensive to keep the St. Augustine runners out of the flower beds, or should I be able to keep it pretty tidy with a weekly pass of the weed eater along the edges?
