Yeah... not really. Nice attempt at marketing the series ESPN, using your "greatest of all-time" garbage again. Sound familiar Longhorn fans?

I thought the Spurs were the team to beat in the West going into the playoffs, and nothing changes after this ***-kicking today. 3-0 Spurs.

(preparing for self ownage if Suns come back in the 4th quarter)

Uhm possibly the 2 best teams in the West meeting in the 1st round, not to mention an epic game 1. Not ESPNs fault the Suns fell apart

Why? They had ZERO shot of beating the Spurs as they were. Duncan would have dropped 50 a night on Amare. Marion would not have made enough of a difference on Parker and Ginobli.

Trading for Shaq wasn't stupid. Standing would have been.

The Suns were a liability on defense last year and I haven't seen any improvement on that this year. I do think the trade has taken them out of their offensive flow though. Their game last year was to score more points than you. Now they can't do that when they need to...like last night when Parker was torching them and they coudln't make stops and their only hope was to score 120.

Shaq also does not seem to be really working on the defensive end. He is not changing enough shots or getting position. I have seen him guarding small players outside the paint (parker blew past him once that I can recall easily) and then other times allowing Duncan to get free looks at 15-20 footers. He just isn't playing with any consistency and I think it really points to the Suns not playing team defense effectively.

When San Antonio beat the Suns in five games a few years ago, I remember Sean Eliot saying "Amare Stoudemire couldn't guard Tim Duncan in a phone booth." As long as Amare refuses to improve his defense, the Suns are going to have a problem getting anywhere in the playoffs, and by that I mean Western Conference or NBA title.

The Shaq trade was stupid. They'd have a much better chance at beating the Spurs as they were built. At least Marion could somewhat slow down Parker. He's averaging like 30+ this series. They were very close to beating the Spurs last year when they were running and gunning they should have kept that team in tact for this season and gone for it all this season, if they lost again then you blow everything up.

They haven't helped themselves depth wise by constantly selling away first round draft picks.

As a Spurs fan, I'm a bit nervous about tonight. The Suns have played well in San Antonio this season and easily could've stolen game 1 if not for Finley's/Timmy D's heroics.

I'm dreading the prospect of this series shifting back to Phoenix with the momentum in favor of the Suns. A San Antonio loss tonight will make things very intriguing, i.e. ESPN rolls the hype machine back out.

I initially expected this thing to go 6/7 games so the fact that the Spurs are in the driver's seat at 3-1 is a luxury. Let's hope they take advantage and close it out tonight.

Game 4 was to be expected, the Suns are too good to just lie down and die. Really I expected game 3 to be like that not 4, a motivated team on their homecourt is bad news. But its too little too late for the Suns.

After all the Suns had been through vs. the Spurs, and after the Suns spent all Game 3 sniping at their coach, I actually did figure they'd lay down and die in Game 4. I was wrong, obviously.

If the Spurs could get out to a good start, this series will be over.

That ball didn't touch Nash's leg like the ref said. Would have enjoyed watching another overtime if this was going to be the last game of the series.

It wasn't off his leg but it ws off his hands, so either way the result is the same, which is the correct call made by the refs (who made a ton of head scratches both ways tonight).

Suns shot themselves in the foot in crunch time in both games 1 and 5. That's why this series never lived up to the hype.
