Spurs win 97-82. Great win for the Spurs. Nevertheless, as far as I am concerned, the Lakers will be be in their prime when the playoffs start.

I just don't know about that. Kobe looks tired out there. He doesn't seem to have the fire that got him the last 2 rings. And LA in the past has needed home court in the playoffs which they likely won't have this year.

First Spurs game of the season that I watched start to finish. Very fun game to watch. Lots of intensity. Always love watching the Lakers lose, especially to the Spurs. However, it is still only December. But so far Spurs and Mavs are lighting it up.

I may be the prince of trash talk (although I want to be king), but even I have to admit that as well as the Mavs are doing so far :
EDGE Spurs !

Luckily, it is far from over & the MAVS aren't that far behind.

Why would they break down when they're playing less minutes than ever and have the deepest bench they've had in 12 years?

I don't think my Spurs will break down. As I said in my OP, I do think that the Lakers will find themselves before the playoffs. The Lakers could very well be a 3rd or 4th seed, however.

GO SPURS GO!!!! GO SPURS GO!!!!

And Kobe certainly displayed plenty of intensity in this game. But he was frustrated by Ginobili and Hill and just didn't make the shots (8 for 27).
