After 41 games they are 35-6. If they can replicate this over the second half of the season they will end at 70-12. I havent heard or seen anyone discuss this.
What other teams besides the Bulls of the late 90s were on pace at the midpoint of the season to win 70? By on pace I mean a record of 35-6 or better?
Obviously the Spurs' collective age will work against them. As we have seen, without Dirk the Mavs have fallen off big time recently. Will an injury to Duncan cause a similar fate?
I think they ca do it, although I dont think it will happen. 68 wins would be monumental, and even then thats only losing 8 games the rest of the year. Even if the Spurs did win 70, I think the Lakers would be favored in a 7 game series, as would the Heat if they are both healthy and at full strength.
