Spurs Offer Maggette

I'm guessing he'd take Finley's starting spot and Manu would continue to be the 6th man? Would Maggette be okay with coming off the bench in those random games where Pop starts Manu - because I can't imagine Parker or Bowen coming off the bench, and none of those guys can play post.

your title is confusing. I have seen multiple sources where the spurs are PLANNING to offer, but have not seen any sources that say they HAVE OFFERED. Do you have a link that says the spurs have made an actual offer???

this would be a huge pick up for the spurs. they have needed a "maggette" like player for a long time now.

SA could certainly use the youth and athleticism that Maggette brings. I just hope he'd be willing to dedicate himself on both ends of the floor. This doesn't seem like a typical Spurs target for some reason...but I'm not complaining.

Any word on Quentin Ross? Seems like the Spurs should be looking for an eventual Bowen replacement and this guy could be the young perimeter defender to mold for that role.

Love to get him and JR Smith. He does remind me of Derek Anderson, would be nice.

But I don't see why he would go to the Spurs. Surely someone is going to offer him more......

Not to hijack the thread, but if Maggette leaves the Clips and Brand may go to GS, what does that do to Baron Davis' decision to go to the Clippers to "create a winner?" Looks like same old Clips with a jazzed up PG.

Hook'em!!!

Maggette signed with Warriors. Spurs do not have the spending money they need to improve their offense and get younger. Maybe they can sign J.R. Smith? Problem is with Bynum coming back healthy the Lakers I think will own the West.

Unless the Spurs get more athletic and more rebounding help for Duncan, then I agree Lakers will win the West next year.

how quickly some people forget that the spurs played the entire conf. finals with their arguably most dangerous player (ginobli) visibly injured. IMHO if Ginobli is fully healthy, the spurs win that series.

On another note, the rumor is that ginobli will sit out the olympics due to his ankle anjury. It is still not healed. this would actually be very beneficial to the spurs so as to ensure that manu will be healthy next year

The Spurs are still basically the same team that won in 2005 and 2007. And their 4 most key players (The "Big Three" plus Bowen), while older than in those two years, haven't shown any signs of slowing down due to age yet. The main thing is that LA and NO are better now than anyone SA faced in 2007, and better than anyone but , maybe, Phoenix and/or Detroit in 2005.

Right now I'd have to put my money on the Hornets for next year.
