Sprint Airave?

Has anyone heard of this? Basically Sprint lets you buy a box that connects to your high speed internet modem and then acts as a hub for your Sprint cell phone in the house. I ordered it via Sprint and got it free from their retention center. I was considering dropping for AT&T b/c my cell coverage at my house is ****. It is supposed to be **** too based on the Sprint coverage map.

But this should fix that problem in my house.

Anyone use it?

It works great for me. In my condo pre-airave, I couldn't get more then 1 bar and every call I made or received was guranteed to be dropped. Now that it is plugged into my router, I get a full four bars and it works great.

So wait... you pay for the device itself, as well as a monthly fee to use the device, and then another monthly fee for each phone you have? That kind of sucks.

I got it today in the mail. Set it up. Pretty easy, just hook up an ethernet cord from my DSL modem to the box.

So I did pay $100 for the box but by doing so I did not have to extend my service contract (which ends like in June, a 2 year gig).

Net-net I am not paying any more for it b/c Sprint is waiving some text message plan I have (giving them free) and then adding the $5 per month service. Net-net the same if not cheaper slightly.

So far it is working great. I was getting 1-2 bars (out of 5) and now I am 4-5. My wife had 0-1 bars (out of 4) and now gets 3-4. Works great so far.
