Spring Break

I'm a college student from Nebraska planning to spend my spring break in Austin to watch some UT baseball. I was looking for some suggestions for hotels near campus and other fun activities my friends and I can plan. Thanks!

There is a hotel called Doubletree Club right by Disch-Falk Field, and you will have easy access to downtown and all the bars, too.

Try the Extended Stay Suites on 6th & Guadalupe - check out the weekly rate $259. Or the new Hampton Downtown on 2nd.
Ride the Dillo to MLK (19th St) @ Red River and walk two blocks to Disch Faulk Field.
Plenty of nightlife on 6th & 4th streets.

Yeah, stay downtown. You can drive or walk or take a cab or the bus to campus and the Disch... but you will want your hotel to be within stumbling distance from 4th or 6th street, so you can just walk around seeing things, getting hammered, and have no problem getting home at night.

Just about everywhere on 6th street. Although many students will be gone, it will still be packed. Hit up Cain and Abels on Tuesday evening.

Yeah, Abel's would be the best place near campus. Hot sorority chicks. Check out the Crown and Anchor and Posse East, too, so you can get a feel for all different types of UT folks.

If it is the same week as South by Southwest Music Festival, you better plan way ahead. Those downtown hotel rooms fill up really fast that week.
