Sports fans who don't like football?

I'm sitting on the couch and this thought just crossed my mind. I don't know a single person who likes sports but who does not like football. I know people who simply don't like sports. I know many more people who like sports, and in this group, I can't think of a single person I know who does not like football. Some people may like basketball or soccer or hockey more than football, but they also like football.

I'm not crazy about baseball. I know people who aren't wild about basketball, soccer, golf, whatever. And I can see why someone would dislike a given sport. Unless that given sport is football. Does anyone know someone who is a sports fan that dislikes football?

Of course, this is not likely a fair question on a message board largely dedicated to college football, but it seemed like an interesting question.

I work with a lady who is married to an 8 year NFL veteran, ex-Oilers CB. She told me he never liked playing football, and doesn't watch it now - he didn't even watch the superbowl this past year.

I'm not a huge football fan. I go to some games, I appreciate it, talk about it, etc. I understand it about as well as I can for not having played it. But if football were outlawed tomorrow, I'd get by.

yeah, my girlfriend for example. Loves baseball and soccer but does not watch football. Don't worry, we are currently working on this.

I like football. But the ridiculous number of commercials each game is killing the NFL for me. And the BCS crap is killing my interest in D-I college football.

Football does have several detriments, imho:
1. Teams only play 1 game per week. Too few games compared to baseball, hockey, basketball, etc.
2. College football's lack of a playoff system = 1 loss and your season is done.
3. Pro football's high percentage of boring games (e.g. usually that 3pm west coast game between two teams that have no shot at the playoffs).

This being said, I do play fantasy football and watch games, so I consider myself a casual football fan.
