Waiting for the half empty glass to fall!

Once again undeserved at the start of the new season.

Here's to Goestenkors to drop out year in year out!

Hey Seattle, do you ever think that possible recruits might read these statements? You sure don't do much to talk up UT for claiming to be such a fan. I'd sure like to know what you were saying about Jody toward the end of her tenure.

Babhorn = it didn't take long!

Go Horns! Work hard and let's have a great season!

nope, not long and a bit beyond the usual empty glass rhetoric.

As for the ranking, I'm happy to see the Horns listed. I think in most of the preseason listings, we will see the Horns around this spot or among the top of the receiving votes teams. Pretty realistic, imo, given the youth of the team, our top offensive post coming off an injury that caused her to miss last season, and Cassie, expected to be a big contributor, recovering from stress reaction surgery.

Goestenkors made her own "bed." Until she starts doing what she is supposed to be doing, which is winning by the way, with her million dollar salary, she will get no respect or a get out of jail card. Her yearly excuses are old and why should anyone without their burnt orange sunglasses believe her?

I do support Texas and until this program starts winning I will be the voice of reason that continues to question this "elite" coach.

I am finally understanding that even if Texas is a tier 2 or 3 program in 10 years, most of you will be happy and still support Goestenkors. To each his/her own!

Jody did the honorable thing of resigning. No one of her stature deserves to be criticized given her contributions to Texas and WBB.

You see, you continue to believe in polls, reputation, and heavy expectations of 4 freshmen to justify the Top 25 ranking. Texas would be better off starting unranked and then proving it deserves to be among the elite.

Once again, UT (Goestenkors) is given a gift by the pollsters and I am wondering whether she is diverting a portion of salary to continue to be relevant and popular in WBB. We saw the "gift" in the Tourney last year and saw how it was thrown out the door in the first round.

I do support Texas. No need to justify it to you.... lol. I will continue to support my alma matter and I am sorry you do not have the capability or capacity to understand. You may be better than me in statistics and mathematics, but I am better than you in other areas.

Seattle, I'm just saying you need to take a look at Jody's records after Texas joined the Big XII. Not so great. In fact, not much better than Coach G's to date. So, I find it hard to believe you that since you've been carrying on and ranting about Coach G that you wouldn't have been ranting for Jody to retire and how much she was overpaid.

Got Coach Conradt's record from Wiki:

1996–97 Texas 22–8 12–4 T–2nd NCAA 2nd Round
1997–98 Texas 12–15 7–9 7th
1998–19 Texas 16–12 10–6 4th NCAA 1st Round
1999–2000 Texas 21–13 9–7 6th NCAA 1st Round
2000–01 Texas 20–13 7–9 7th NCAA 1st Round
2001–02 Texas 22–10 10–6 5th NCAA Sweet 16
2002–03 Texas 29–6 15–1 1st NCAA Final Four
2003–04 Texas 30–5 14–2 T–1st NCAA Sweet 16
2004–05 Texas 22–9 13–3 2nd NCAA 2nd Round
2005–06 Texas 13–15 7–9 T–8th
2006–07 Texas 18–14 6–10 T–7th

At least Conradt was at times competitve in the Big 12 unlike Goestenkors, who is still trying to learn on the job. Coach Conradt was not selfish to continue at Texas and do the right thing for the betterment of Longhorn basketball.

The good thing about basketball, polls do not matter. Get in the Tournament and you control your own destiny. Ranking in a preseason poll should not be the basis of any type of spat.

That said, time is up for Texas. Another uncompetitive Big 12 season probably isn't going to cut it. Adding to the pressure will be the conference affiliation going forward. The PAC, Big 10 or even a Big 12/ACC combo all will be tougher goes in basketball (men's and women's).

Some of you just need to ignore the hater. PLEASE!!!!!!

Any reply or attention you supply just fuels the fire. There is obviously an agenda; no Texas fan could be so full of vile, hatred, and bitterness.

Seriously, which true Texas fan gets upset because the 'Horns made a pre-season poll? Just think about it . . .

Seems about right to me. WIth Cokie back, we should at least be a top 25 team. Hopefully by the end of the year, somewhere near the top 10.

that's the problem, viper. last time the team was healthy (2009-10), they were 10-6 and split with OU & swept both Tech and Baylor. They lost to A&M twice but people forget that Baylor beat A&M eight straight before losing last season. I don't expect a five hundred record in conference. Whether the team splits with A&M, OU and Tech or not, I do expect that they will win more than they lose. But some are actively expressing a desire to see the coach and therefore, the team, fail. Not exactly a supportive attitude, no matter how anyone tries to present it.

BabHorn we just see things differently I guess. Eventually a coach is judged by the team's success. When that success isn't there after a period of time, patience wilts as everyone's disappointment level is different.

If the season plays out like you indicated, those in charge will have a tough decision to make as Texas will not (and should not) put up with mediocrity. It is a very cruel world out here and college sports are not immune (even if most would like it to be).

As Fan since 1982! I am excited for GG and the girls. All of them want a good year, along with the fans. And I think we will see it this year,if everyone stay healthy. The pieces are there. Now its up too the Coaches and the Players, to show how bad they want to be back at the Elite Level

I think it is a mistake to predetermine the appropriate reaction in advance of the results. In particular if that is being defined by win-loss record. Sometimes a winning record looks better than the actual performance on the court, sometimes a losing record looks worse than it should. Once we have played some games I’m sure there will still be plenty to disagree about. But, at least then we will have some actual performance that can be a basis for the disagreement. I’m pretty sure we could spend some time talking about who should start, rotations, areas of focus due to opportunity or need for improvement, the competition that is coming early in the season….really anything other than passing judgment in advance. I am not satisfied and want to see improvement. I do not want to limit opportunities by defining it so that it can only look exactly as I have it pictured. Every season has many unexpected twists and turns.

I want to see the end of the movie before I write the review……and, yes. I understand that is not always standard procedure.

You are in a state of denial. One does not get a trophy just for competing, and wanting the best for a program isn't personal.
