Watching live here in Caribbean, Texas Ex Hansen beats Kitajima finally but settles for bronze behind a South African and Australian swimmer. 7 events and 7 American medals so far including a WR in womens 100M Butterfly for Vollmer. Mens 4X100 free relay coming up in about 20 minutes.

Spoiler for Mens 4X100 Free

USA has three great legs to start race and has lead into Lochte in fourth position but he is passed by the French anchor and USA gets silver this year that probably should have gotten in 2008 but for Lezak's miraculous swim in Beijing. Phelps looked much better than yesterday and is probably really regretting his choice to go for the 400IM instead of the 200 free.

Phelps strikes me as a bit of a moron. The decision to go for 400IM over the 200free was beyond stupid given the outcomes just prior to the Games. I just don't get it. There was no way he was going to win the 400IM.
