Speeding Ticket

I'm sure this has been dealt with a few times on here, but I couldn't find any on a search.

I got a speeding ticket yesterday. I had my cruise set at 80 in a 70 and somehow missed the drop to 60. I would have no interest in even arguing if the ticket was for 20 over. It sucks but I was caught and was doing it intentionally (I would have slowed to 70 if I noticed the sign). My complaint is I was ticketed for 85 which brings me to the magic number of 25 over and I cant even use defensive driving to save on my insurance. The officer refused to show me the reading on his radar. This is compounded by the fact that I am moving soon, so should I just suck it up and get screwed or do I have any hope?

Mine was worse, I was coming of a 75 (and going 86) but then it dropped to 55 and I didn't notice. I got deferred adjudication luckily and in six months it was off.

Go get your car checked to see if your speedometer is properly working. Also, were you going downhill? Cruise control being a bit faster than set limit before it reigns itself in as well as a couple miles off on the speedometer could be the extra 5 mph.

I don't think this would help you in court since you cannot prove you had your cruise control on and besides, you would be admitting to having it on and speeding intentionally. But for your own knowledge to prevent this in the future it may be helpful.
