Who is the biggest homerun threat on the squad?

Who do we have coming in that will be biggest threat to take it to the house any time he touches the ball?

I hope Hills or one of the receivers coming in possesses that same lightning strike ability that Jamaal did the last half of last season.

I'm hoping it's one of the young guys we have coming up, b/c Jamaal is gone. Limas was definitely a deep threat, but I never really saw the breakaway speed to take it all the way.

Do people really think Quan is fast? He's elusive, but top speed isn't what he's known for. I'm still surprised he took back that KO return at aggy last year.

I've read from others that Desean Hales could provide the speed and playmaking ability that Ramonce Taylor gave us his freshman year.

We've recruited a lot of speed in the last two classes. I'm not sure whis frosh and reshirt frosh will see the field this year, but my guess is the ones that do will have big play ability. Chiles at QB will also give us some thrills.

Quan is shifty, and has good hops to make up for his lack of statue (for a WR), but in pure straight-line speed I think Shipley has him beat.

I never have been impressed with his elusiveness or breakaway speed (the later he may have… hard to tell)… but he is undeniably sure handed.

I don't think that Fozzy is a fast as some think that he is. I think that he has good burst. But he won't run away from many in the open field. I'm really excited about this kid though. His shiftiness reminds me a whole lot of Cedric's. In that he runs through arm tackles. Spins, jukes, and stiff arms. Impressive. He'll be loging big minutes by seasons end

i think that's the problem. There is no home run threat on this team (at least that has playing experience). I really think this is the year of the young kids for Texas. Quan is dependable, as is Shipley. But neither is a difference maker. This is the year Mack needs to turn the kids loose and see who takes charge. For the first time in Mack's tenure at Texas, there is no Vince, Ricky, Roy, Benson, or Sweed type talent on offense.
That is why I think this Texas team is going to have some real struggles this year. If you ease your expectations and just sit back and enjoy the young talent, this could be a fun year. If you are expecting a real run the the big 12 championship, you're going to be disappointed.

Having said that, if Mack allows Chiles to be a big part of this offense and he responds the way I think he would, it could be a great year for the horns. Problem is, Mack often says one thing and does another. We'll see.

Doesn't Fitzhenry have one of if not the best 40 time of the guys coming in? Isn't he the son of a coach? Could bode well for early impact.
