Space Invaders

Yeah......I know.....you were all having flashbacks of rolling over the score on Atari...(an embarrassing note...my Mom can kick EVERYONE'S *** in Space Invaders and ....Zelda....but this is another story......)

But, this is my real question.....I have a crap load of work to do and I work most efficiently watching old movies. Usually, the "feel good, God bless America, save the day"...ones.

So, I am watching Independence Day. If you saw something like that? Would you really try to get out of a major city? I'm military and my goal might be different depending on what knowledge I had, but in general.....why would you every try to run?

There's plenty of logical issues with Independence Day, and you pick this to question?!?!

The aliens were targetting big cities, civilians had no means of resistance, trying to escape seems like a pretty obvious response to me.

I would go near water now, after seeing Signs.

In ID4 they were all hovering over major metropolitan centers. Obviously to create a big population reduction and create havoc. Less unity would be in smaller, more rural areas. I would go somewhere that no alien civilization would want any part of, College Station or Oklahoma. It would suck but I would at least still be alive.

It's impossible for me to fire a pistol. If you'll check me medical records, you'll see I have crippling arthritis in me index fingers. Look at 'em! I got it from space invaders in 1977.

YAK YAK>>>>>YAK YAK

ok, that was a stupid reference to a movie whose name i cannot recall.

If aliens are coming there's about a 99.99 percent chance they are coming to eat us.

Without a doubt im arming myself Wolverine style and heading for the hills

everyone go to college station. you might fit in and be spared.

and this....

If aliens invade there's really only one choice: get down your knees and really lick boot. Pledge undying loyalty to your alien masters.

I think taking down an interstelar space ship w/ a Mac is totally believable. It's good to know aliens will be running compatible software for sabotage purposes.

Agreed. The scene where his laptop displayed the negotiating with host message had to be one of the lowest points of technological realism in American cinema.
