Saw the pilot re-run last night on NBC ... anyone catch the show?

First episode was great, show looks like it has potential to be a good one.

I saw it as well and thought it was very good. Is the rookie cop supposed to have been someone before he joined the police force or is his partner just giving him a hard time? Did the guy in the Ferrari know him (rookie cop) or was he just trying to get out of going to jail?

Also, he did not learn how to shoot like tht at the academy....

I got the impression that the rookie cop came from a privileged family. Southland looks like it is off to a good start so far.

Im a sucker for Cop Drama's but after watching The WIRE everything else pails in comparison.

Wasnt that impressed with the show.

Looks like it has potential.

"Did the guy in the Ferrari know him (rookie cop) or was he just trying to get out of going to jail?"

Yes he knew him. I get the impression that his dad is big time in Hollywood as the kid made a statement referencing his father.

I think his dad is a high-priced criminal attorney. I think the guy in the Ferrari went to highschool with the rookie (probably Beverly Hills High), but they weren't friends.

****SPOILER****

OK -- so from the last scene from episode 1, are we to infer that the rookie cop's partner is gay? That was clearly a gay bar he was in.
Could make for some interesting story lines.

I don't watch many regular network dramas, but I enjoyed the pilot and will keep watching this one. Was this the one (or am I already getting it confused with another show) where they bleeped out certain curse words? I can understand bleeping out curse words in movies that were not originally meant for the channel on which they are now showing. But, when the show is made especially for this network, the bleeping makes me smile for some reason.

Several words were beeped out on the first episode of this show. I wondered about the same thing at the time.

I thought at the time that it might be a gay bar and noticed that there was not a girl there. Also, the guy that spoke said that he had been arrested earlier so I didn't think itwas a cop bar.

The guy was the helpful ladies' son or husband.

"Also, the guy that spoke said that he had been arrested earlier so I didn't think itwas a cop bar"

The guy that said he had been arrested was the guy sitting in the back of the vice cops' car that they had arrested at a park

I'll have to go back and watch the part again, but my recollection is that they were saying that the park area was a known area for guys cruising for guys.

Last nights episode was the worst so far.

That one crazy cop is just stupid, what the hell was that with him handcuffed? The interview with the dead girls sister, what the fridge was that? The bottle of pills at the end, I think this show just jumped the shark.......The part with the Bentley and Great Dane, now that was funny.

I was shocked at how bad last night was. 2 great episodes, then BAM ... **** on a stick.

I hope they can recover from this temporary nose-dive.
